If you host script-powered sites in a hosting account with us, you can add Memcached to your shared hosting package with only a few clicks through your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The upgrade will be available immediately and, since the PHP extension required for it is pre-installed on our avant-garde cloud website hosting platform, you can begin using it straight away. To give you more versatility, we offer two different upgrades related to the number of instances (i.e. how many websites will use Memcached) and to the amount of memory that the Memcached caching system will use. The latter is offered in increments of 16 MB and you can add as much memory as you want. Logically, the more memory Memcached is permitted to use, the more data it will cache, so in case you manage a high-traffic website with lots of data, you may require more memory to be able to take full advantage of the power that Memcached can offer you.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you choose to host your Internet sites in a semi-dedicated server account, you can take advantage of Memcached easily, as the object caching platform’s activation requires a couple of mouse clicks from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The PHP extension that it requires is pre-installed on our servers, so you can start using the Memcached caching platform as soon as you add it to your semi-dedicated server account. You will be able to select how many sites can use it and how much info can be cached, i.e. there’re two different features that can be upgraded – the instances and the amount of memory. You can add more of both, so if one of your Internet sites becomes very busy, for instance, you can always order more memory. Our system is amazingly flexible in this regard and we do not tie a given number of instances to a pre-defined amount of system memory. You can use the Memcached platform to boost the loading speed of any script-powered website, including those that are based on popular web apps, such as WordPress or Joomla™.
Memcached in VPS Servers
When you acquire a VPS server from us, you’ll be able to use Memcached at no additional fee, as the object caching platform is offered with all virtual machines ordered with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Even if you have heavy Internet sites, you can enhance their performance without efforts and the decreased load on your Virtual Private Server will allow you to keep your current Virtual Private Server plan instead of migrating to a more powerful one. The amount of system memory that the Memcached platform can use to cache info depends on the plan that you’re using, but even with a low-end one, you’ll have at least several hundred megabytes, which is considerably more than what you’d get with a shared hosting plan, so the website performance boost will be serious. Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Any dedicated server that is ordered with our Hepsia hosting Control Panel comes with Memcached already installed by default, so you can begin using this data caching system the moment your dedicated server is ready, without the need to activate or upgrade anything. The amount of memory that Memcached can use depends on the dedicated server that you’ve selected, but since our servers are very powerful and considering the fact that it is likely that you will host resource-intensive websites on them, the minimum amount of memory that the system can use will be 3 GB. This will permit you to increase the overall performance of very heavy sites with ease and you will distinguish the difference shortly after Memcached begins caching database requests. You can take advantage of the system with any database-powered web portal, including those that are based on famous Content Management Systems like WordPress and Joomla™.
